　　这位同学从本科阶段就有出国的梦想。本科成绩优异，临近毕业，她徘徊于出国留学或国内考研两个选择之中难以抉择。如果放弃国内研究生去美国读研，那无疑是一笔不小的费用。考虑到家庭经济的问题，懂事的她暂时选择了在国内读研，但是这并没有打消她要出国的念头。这次，她打算挑战美国的博士。这位同学的家庭并不富裕，爸爸专程做飞机从广西飞来上海为这位同学张罗申请之事。家里给她的目标不仅仅是美国的博士，更重要的她需要拿到全额奖学金。

　　When designing as a college student of Landscape Architecture, I have noticed that different design products could exert impacts of various degrees on the people surrounding. How to determine and quantify the impact? I tried to find out the answer through the graduate study at Tongji University, but discovering more room for me to explore the correlation between the built environment and human beings. To have a comprehensive understanding of the specialty and accumulate enough theories to direct my landscape architecture design, I’m applying for your Ph.D. program in Architecture with a concentration on Smart Cities to approach my aim.

　　Nowadays, the problems of the urban environment have been striking and seem difficult to be resolved in a short time. So, industries related to environmental improvement will continue to boom in the near future. For me, I wish to follow the growing trend, committing myself to the construction of a harmonious human-environment relationship, especially the mental health benefits of exposure to urban nature using measures and approaches from geography, psychology, and public health.
