加拿大四大艺术学院之新斯科舍设计学院NSCAD-新东方前途出国

　　 新斯科舍艺术与设计大学（NSCAD）建于1887 年，Nova Scotia College of Art and Design university，新斯科舍艺术与设计大学（NSCAD）位于加拿大新斯科舍省哈利法克斯市，有着便利的交通。

　　新斯科舍艺术与设计大学（NSCAD）有着辉煌的过去和傲娇的今天。不少新斯科舍艺术与设计大学（NSCAD）的老师和学生获得国际顶尖的奖项。90 级的艺术学学士（BFA）约翰·卡尔斯（John Kahrs)凭借他的动画短片电影《纸人》在2013 年获得第85 届奥斯卡金像奖最佳动画短片奖。

　　本科学生学习解决问题的设计方案，学习在视觉艺术交流中使用各类工具和技术；锻炼在特定环境中鼓励独立表达的批判性思维。所有专业都从第一年的基础学习开始，对各类媒体及概念进行广泛的探索。第二年是跨学科设计的学习，鼓励学生在专业方向上进一步深入。从第三年开始，学生将选择一个专业方向并转向高级专业课的学习，也可以继续在跨学科学科设计方向上继续。第三年和第四年的学生将围绕学术项目设计，在他们的工作室进行独立研究。高级学生可以参加校外学习项目—NSCAD 与墨西哥、韩国等15 个国家的艺术学校有交流生项目。在学习结束前，有些学生可以通过额外学习一年半，而获得第二个专业学位。

• 　　NSCAD offers the followinggraduate degrees:

• 　　Master of Design

• 　　The Master of Design is 60 credit program (effectiveSeptember 2018). Over the course of study, students take 60 credits ofprescribed Studio and Liberal Arts and Sciences courses and complete a graduatethesis/degree project. The emphasis of the Program is on practice-led research,hence every student’s degree project will be one that focuses on new knowledgegained through reflective practice. Students will present their researchthrough their design work, accompanied by an extended written paper; by apublic presentation, and in appropriate circumstances in a group exhibition.

• 　　Master of Fine ArtsThe Master of Fine Arts degree isawarded after the successful completion of 42 credits of course work and other program requirements (includingthe Final Exhibition and Thesis) taken over a 20 to 24 month period, beginningin the Fall semester. The university’s MFA Program, in existence since 1973,provides students with the opportunity to develop their work in a context ofintense critical discussion. Academic studies in art history or other relevantsubjects form an integral part of the program.

• 　　Students are selected for their capability as artists,craftspersons, or designers; their understanding of related criticalinformation; and the personal qualities and interests that might be expected tocontribute to their success as teachers and scholars.

• 　　The university’s MFA Program addresses the main areas ofstudy offered at the university: Craft, and Fine and Media Arts.

• 　　The Masterof Fine Arts in Craft program is discipline-based in ceramics,jewellery design and metalsmithing or textiles.
