每年8 月最后一个周三，来自世界各地数以万计的游人，聚集在西班牙巴伦西亚地区的布尼奥尔镇，参加一场号称全世界最疯狂的食物大战：La Tomatina 番茄大战。
Every year on the last Wednesday of August, tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world gather in the town of Buñol in Valencia in Spain to participate in what is known as the craziest food fight in the world: La Tomatina.

Many trucks haul the bounty of tomatoes into the center of the town, Plaza del Pueblo. The tomatoes come from Extremadura, where they are less expensive.
The signal for the beginning of the fight is firing of the cannon, and the real fun begins. Participants go wild, throwing them at each other and covering each other in tomato sauce.

La Tomatina is a lot of fun, but it can also be dangerous. Participants have been known to suffer from broken bones and other injuries as a result of the wild fighting.
Therefore, those who partake in this event are strongly encouraged to wear protective safety goggles and gloves. In addition, they must squish the tomatoes before throwing for safety precautions. Another rule is that no one is allowed to bring into this fight anything that may provoke someone into a more serious brawl, such as a glass bottle. It is highly frowned upon to tear someone else’s clothing.
